Chicago-based project44, a technology services provider offering standardized, secure Web service API (application programming interfaces) integrations enabling 3PLs and shippers to connect with carriers in real time, said this week it has rolled out a new offering, entitled the Global Preferred Carriers Program.
The objective of the program is to evaluate and recognize—in the form of a list published on a monthly basis—less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload carriers in the project44 network that, project44 said “have demonstrated excellence in performance, consistency, delivery of high-fidelity data and shipment visibility across multiple loads.”
Company officials explained that global retailers, manufacturers, and distributors will see the program’s benefits through more predictable and higher service levels, as well as increased network stability. What’s more, they added that preferred carriers can benefit from the advantage of additional business opportunities from more than 300 enterprise customers that comprise $57 billion of managed freight and also strategic multiyear relationships.
The project44 Preferred Carriers is comprised of nine North America-based LTL carriers and 320 truckload carriers, including the Top200 in Europe, Top 100 in North America, and Top20 in Latin America, with each of these carriers, according to project44, demonstrating best in class performance in levels and topping customer expectations for real-time visibility.
Tommy Barnes, Head of Global Network Partnerships at project44, told LM that network depth, breadth and performance serve as the foundation of real-time transportation visibility.
“Our 300-plus enterprise customers have selected project44 because of our commitment to our network and the benefits it uniquely can provide to them,” he said. “Our global, multimodal and high performing network is something we have always and will continue to invest in. With the launch of Preferred Carrier Program, global retailers, manufacturers, distributors and LSPs now have additional tools to maximize on our expansive multimodal network with customers actively tracking shipments in over 120+ countries. This program also allows us to celebrate carriers that have embraced shipment visibility while demonstrating excellence in performance across multiple loads.”
When asked what this program brings to the table for both shippers and carriers, Barnes explained that project44 is committed to enabling all participants in the transportation ecosystem to demonstrate increased productivity and resilience – even in the face of disruptions or volatility.
“Shippers and LSPs can now benefit from this program by approaching carriers with a stellar record, ensuring higher service levels and increased network stability,” he said. “Through project44’s Network Management Center, carriers can gain new business opportunities and strategic multi-year partnerships. Our data shows that truckload carriers visible on the network are four times more likely to win new loads and customers.”
The project44 executive also pointed out that this program is the industry’s first global program that evaluates and recognizes highly efficient carriers in project44’s network.
“As the Preferred Carrier list is updated monthly, it motivates our carrier community to continuously adhere to the high standards,” he said. “As a result, our customer community benefits from a global, high-performing, multi-modal network and remains agile and in control of operating conditions.”
