Yusen Logistics opens new office at logistics gateway to Europe

A new Yusen Logistics office located at the regional cargo hub in Budapest, Hungary will help clients around the world access Europe more easily.Yusen Logistics is a world leading provider of contract logistics and international freight forwarding, creating solutions ranging from standalone operations to global supply chains.

With its new office at BUD Cargo City, the state-of-the-art cargo hub built in Budapest to serve global cargo needs, Yusen will be able to offer faster and more reliable airport handling. Budapest acts as a European hub for air travel: in 2019, 43 airlines ran on 142 scheduled passenger routes. The number of long-haul flights is increasing, with air traffic growing by an estimated 55 percent between 2015 and 2019.

There was also a 60% increase in cargo volume from 2015 to 2018, with an equal split between import and export, bringing more and more freighters, wide body passenger flights (belly cargo), integrators and air trucking. To manage the growing cargo needs, BUD Cargo City was created: following the groundbreaking ceremony in September 2018, last year saw Phase 1 developments, including a 21,600m2 cargo handling facility, an 11,200m2 forwarder facility and two B 747 8F freighter stands.

Being located at BUD Cargo City means Yusen Logistics can better use Budapest airport as a hub for regional distribution and collection, focusing on the pharmaceuticals industry and GDP onboarding. The new office is located close to Yusen Logistics Hungary’s own warehouse, where we can handle special cargo.

Tamás Tanárki; “We are very excited to announce the opening of this key cargo office, which will help us handle more of our clients’ cargo faster, giving them access to a growing international logistics network.”
