As the corporate partner of the event, Yusen Logistics has participated in “Ocean of Opportunities Challenge 2020” and successfully solicited the best proposal from one of the innovative start-ups called Virtual Control Limited.
Ocean of Opportunities Challenge 2020 (O3 Challenge) is the open innovation program – jointly run by Symphony Creative Solutions Pte. Ltd., the affiliate of NYK Group, and NUS Enterprise, the entrepreneurial arm of the National University of Singapore.
As the corporate partner of O3 Challenge, Yusen Logistics called for proposals to achieve our challenge statement, “Efficient Data Exchange with non-system-integrated CFS”. With its technical expertise, Virtual Control Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Virtual Control”) was able to stand out from the entries from 17 companies across 9 countries around the globe. At the Grand Finale of O3 Challenge held on 26 August, Mr. Yasuyuki Takahashi, Chief Information Officer of Yusen Logistics expressed his gratitude to all participants and stated Yusen Logistics would continue to show strong support to this program and the development of the logistics industry.
Virtual Control is a tech start-up from Cyberport, which is an innovative digital community comprised of over 1,500 start-ups, wholly owned by the Hong Kong SAR Government. With the aim to tackle the stated logistics challenge, Yusen Logistics and Virtual Control will proceed to further discussion on how to execute the proposed solution.
In addition, Yusen Logistics has joined another start-up program called “Smart Port Challenge 2020” sponsored by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). Through collaborations with partner companies that utilize advanced technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, Yusen Logistics is looking to improving business operations and enhancing customer value proposition. As a core belief, we, Yusen Logistics will continue to apply insight, service quality and innovation to create sustainable growth for business and society.
