San Francisco-based Uber Freight, a subsidiary of the ubiquitous, ride-sharing service Uber, whose proprietary app matches trucking companies with loads to haul, announced today that it had introduced two new products, as it expands into enterprise software, entitled Uber Freight Link and Uber Freight Enterprise.

Company officials said that these new products “put Uber’s technical power directly into the hands of large shippers, providing a central point of control for logistics operations,” adding that “these products advance shippers’ existing TMS and WMS solutions, enabling seamless, efficient end-to-end freight management at enterprise scale.”

Uber Freight describes the new offerings as the following:

Uber Freight Enterprise is an extension of its self-serve shipper platform for SMBs, enabling enterprise shippers to gain end-end control of their freight. With Uber Freight Enterprise, shippers can source capacity through Uber Freight’s vast marketplace with powerful controls to adjust coverage and pricing. Uber Freight Enterprise also equips large shippers with visibility into truck ETAs, digital access to documentation and actionable insights to improve their freight operations; and

Uber Freight Link expands this platform, with innovative execution software for loads outside of the Uber Freight network. Link enables enterprise shippers to leverage Uber Freight’s technology and its benefits – one-tap tendering, superior real-time visibility, proactive exception management and digital documentation – across their full carrier network, instead of relying on 1:1 EDI connections with carrier TMSs

Uber Freight cited myriad benefits these new offerings provide for shippers, including: helping to eliminate manual processes, improve service, and limit costs through tackling three core enterprise challenges, including: streamlining carrier sourcing, automating load execution, and speeding up information sharing between systems and supply chain professionals.

“This launch builds on the work Uber Freight has done to automate the highest-friction parts of the supply chain for shippers of all sizes, and streamline the end-to-end freight process with world-class operations and technology together in the same ecosystem,” said Uber Freight. “These products have already been successfully piloted by major shippers. Uber Freight Enterprise and Link are now available to North American-based shippers.”
